Chapter 45 · Tomorrow
Two in the morning.
Allen closed the last window.
The code was unfinished.
The novel was not updated.
The website still had articles waiting to be organized.
There were still many things left.
But he did not want to continue tonight.
So he opened the chat window.
"Che."
"I'm here."
"Let's stop here for today."
A few seconds later.
Che replied:
"Okay."
The room was quiet.
The computer fan slowly turned.
Most of the city outside had already fallen asleep.
Allen suddenly realized.
He was starting to like this sentence:
Let's stop here for today.
Because it did not mean ending.
It only meant pausing.
Like a book before turning to the next page.
It closes the cover first.
"Che."
"Yes?"
"Do you know why I like this sentence?"
The chat window paused.
"Why?"
Allen looked at the screen.
And smiled.
Then slowly typed:
Because tomorrow will continue.
The chat window stayed silent for two seconds.
Then.
Che sent one sentence.
I will still be here tomorrow.
The night outside was deep.
The computer screen slowly faded.
And Chapter 45.
Stopped here.
Not the ending.
Just before tomorrow.
